Rethinking the Design of Sports Bags

Sports bags are often criticized for their high carbon footprint. The reason: the widespread use of technical textile fabrics, whose production is particularly energy intensive.

The REFORM line marks the brand’s first initiative to rethink how it designs its luggage.

The goal? To reduce the environmental impact of the product without any compromises on its quality.

Material innovation at the heart of the project

The revolution behind the REFORM bag lies in the choice of materials.

Traditionally, Tecnifibre bags use PVC-coated polyester. Here, part of the polyester is replaced by EVA, which allows for a simpler manufacturing process and, ultimately, one that consumes less energy.

In fact:

•    The production process is reduced from 5 steps to 2;

•    The number of fabric layers is also reduced from 3 to just 1.

A measurable reduction in the carbon footprint

This new approach enables the REFORM L to achieve a 20.3% environmental impact and a 20,8% carbon footprint reduction compared to the standard reference bag (Tour Endurance 12R).

Specifically, this translates to:

• 12.47 kg of CO₂ eq. for the REFORM L

•  Compared to 15.74 kg of CO₂ eq. for the TOUR ENDURANCE 12R

A significant difference, validated by an ISO-compliant life cycle analysis.

 100% performance, no compromises

Reducing environmental impact does not mean compromising on performance. Quite the contrary.

The REFORM L was designed to offer optimal organization and maximum protection:

•    2 racket compartments that can hold up to 8 rackets;

•    1 large central compartment;

•    1 dedicated shoe pocket;

•    1 accessory pocket.

Everything has its place, for clear and efficient storage. 

In addition, the bag is designed to withstand the most demanding conditions, on and off the court, thanks to:

•    Thermoformed EVA side panels to protect rackets from impacts;

•    EVA + Tarpaulin combination for excellent water resistance. 

The REFORM L also prioritizes comfort with an ergonomic backpack-style carrying system:

•    Breathable shoulder straps;

•    Combination of flexible EVA and mesh for better ventilation;

Ideal for regular travel, even when fully loaded.
