At Tecnifibre, we believe that informed choices start with transparent information. That's why we have introduced environmental labelling across our apparel range. Let's take a closer look behind the scenes.

STEP 1: UNDERSTANDING A PRODUCT'S IMPACT

When thinking about the environmental impact of a garment, most people focus on its manufacturing process. In reality, the picture is much broader.

To assess a product's environmental footprint, it is necessary to analyze its entire life cycle: raw material extraction, manufacturing, transportation, use and end-of-life treatment. This approach provides a comprehensive view rather than a partial snapshot.

The goal is not to label a product as "good" or "bad", but to better understand the impacts generated at every stage of its life.

STEP 2: COLLECTING THE DATA

Behind every environmental score lies extensive data collection. For each product, we identify the materials used, its manufacturing locations and processing stages. Spinning, knitting, dyeing, finishing and garment assembly: every step matters.

This process requires close collaboration with our partners to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the information collected. The challenge is to make visible a value chain that is often complex and spread across multiple countries and suppliers.

STEP 3: CALCULATING THE ENVIRONMENTAL COST

Once all data has been collected, it is integrated into a methodology designed to measure the product's environmental impact. To perform these calculations, Tecnifibre relies on Ecobalyse, a tool developed as part of the environmental labelling initiative led by the French Ministry for Ecological Transition and ADEME (the French Agency for Ecological Transition).

The objective of this methodology is to provide a common and transparent framework that enables brands to assess products using the same standards.

Ecobalyse evaluates the entire life cycle of a product, from raw material production and manufacturing to transportation, use and end-of-life treatment. The result is expressed as a single score known as the Environmental Cost. This score combines multiple environmental indicators to provide an overall assessment of a product's impact. It considers factors such as greenhouse gas emissions, resource consumption, ecosystem impacts and the depletion of natural resources.

The lower the score, the lower the overall environmental impact of the product.

Using a shared methodology makes it possible to compare products consistently and transparently across the industry.

STEP 4: MAKING INFORMATION ACCESSIBLE

At Tecnifibre, we believe that information is only useful when it is easy to understand.

That's why environmental labelling is directly available on the product pages of our apparel collection.

There, you can find:

• The origin of each manufacturing stage;
• Product composition;
• The Environmental Cost calculated across the product's entire life cycle.

This transparency helps consumers better understand the environmental characteristics of a product before making a purchase.

STEP 5: CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT

Environmental labelling is not an end goal. It is a tool. A tool that helps us better understand our products, identify opportunities for improvement and guide future developments.

HOW TO READ THE ENVIRONMENTAL SCORE

This score is calculated using the Ecobalyse methodology and takes into account the product's entire life cycle: raw materials, manufacturing, transportation, use and end-of-life treatment.

The result is expressed in points.

The lower the score, the lower the product's environmental impact.

Alongside this score, we also provide traceability information to help you better understand the product's journey:

• Product composition.
