TECNIFIBRE’S CLIMATE PATHWAY

In response to climate challenges, many companies are announcing targets to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions.

But how can one develop a pathway that is ambitious, realistic, and based on concrete data ?

To answer this question, Tecnifibre has implemented a structured approach to measure its impact, identify areas for action, and set targets aligned with scientific recommendations.

This approach led, in 2025, to the validation of its climate trajectory by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).

STEP 1: UNDERSTANDING WHERE EMISSIONS COME FROM

First, Tecnifibre sought to better understand the sources of emissions generated by its operations.

To do this, in 2022 the brand conducted its first carbon footprint assessment covering its entire value chain.

This analysis provided a better understanding of the brand’s various emission sources: raw materials, manufacturing, product use, etc.

Just like in sports, it’s hard to make progress without knowing where you’re starting from.

STEP 2: DEVELOPING A DECARBONIZATION PLAN

Once the main sources of emissions were identified, Tecnifibre worked on developing its decarbonization plan.

The goal: to identify actions that could reduce its climate impact throughout its value chain.

STEP 3: DEVELOP AND VALIDATE A REDUCTION PATHWAY

Tecnifibre used this decarbonization plan as the basis for developing its emissions reduction pathway.

This pathway was then submitted to the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).

The initiative’s experts then assess whether the proposed targets are aligned with the scientific criteria defined by their methodology and with the ambitions of the Paris Agreement.

In 2025, Tecnifibre’s trajectory was validated by the SBTi.

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR TECNIFIBRE?

For Tecnifibre, this validation represents an important step in structuring its climate strategy.

It confirms that the defined targets are part of a recognized, rigorous, and transparent framework.
