X-Loop: When tennis strings become textiles
In 2024, the brand launched the X-Loop program, the first technical textile made from 100% recycled polyester, half of which is derived from used polyester tennis strings.
A SECOND LIFE FOR TENNIS STRINGS
In collaboration with its string supplier in Wervicq-Sud (North of France), its stores, and partner tennis tournaments (notably the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters and Rotterdam), Tecnifibre collects production scraps and end-of-life strings.
In 2025, with the help of its collection partner Mahra le Toit, the brand collected 4,500 kg of polyester strings!
Here is the list of stores involved in the collection.
AN INNOVATIVE TRANSFORMATION PROCESS
Infinite Athletic, also a partner of the brand, then takes over to transform the used strings into small pellets, before turning them into yarns that will be used to manufacture these ultra-lightweight, durable, and breathable technical T-shirts.

X-loop T-shirts are made from 50% polyester strings and 50% plastic bottles: the equivalent of 4 tennis strings and 2 1.5-liter bottles.

A lightweight, high-performance technical T-shirt
The X-Loop T-shirt is the lightest T-shirt ever designed by Tecnifibre, crafted from a soft, comfortable knit. Its fabric is long-lasting thanks to the abrasion-resistant and breathable properties of the strings: no chemical treatments are used. Only natural antibacterial treatment is applied to the fabric, based on silver ions, to prevent the growth of sweat-related bacteria that cause unpleasant odors.
Aesthetics true to Tecnifibre’s DNA
From a design perspective, the graphic is woven into the fabric, featuring a gradient pattern that celebrates the Tecnifibre logo.
