Danielle Collins: “The leopard represents my competitive spirit”

During our meeting on the sunny courts, Danielle Collins appeared with a broad smile, visibly eager to reveal the fruit of a project that is particularly close to her heart.

The American player officially unveiled the new pickleball paddle she helped design: the “Animal Signature” paddle , a special edition adorned with her beloved leopard print. Seeing her hold it, one could sense that this creation represented much more than a simple commercial product. “We worked so hard on this project,” she confided, explaining that the design team had done the bulk of the work, even though she herself had added her personal touch. For her, it was simply the “most fun” project she had ever participated in.

Her nickname, The Animal , featured on the product, is no coincidence: it's been with her since childhood. Collins says she's always been "a little animal on the court," a spontaneous, lively, energetic, almost boisterous player. The nickname stuck, and she embraced it wholeheartedly, as it perfectly reflects her temperament.

One of the most striking elements of the design is the leopard eyes inscribed on the face of the racket. For Collins, they perfectly symbolize his fighting spirit: fierce, competitive, always ready to “pounce”.

She also emphasizes the leopard-print trim , her favorite detail. She recalls numerous discussions in meetings about this aesthetic choice: the light brown, beige, gold, and Tecnifibre logo harmonize, in her opinion, “in a magnificent way.” She admits to being almost speechless when the final product is mentioned, as it corresponds precisely to what she had envisioned.
