Tecnifibre's Partnership With Touchtennis
Tecnifibre are proud to annouce their partnership with touchtennis for 2010.
Tecnifibre will be the product of choice for touchtennis, including rackets, strings and grips. Bags, balls, nets and accessories will also be available by Tecnifibre for the sport.
Touchtennis is a new sport which orginated in the UK in 2003 and is growing with great pace and enthusiasm.
Inspired by Tennis, it follows the same basic rules but on a smaller court, using a 21 inch racket and an 8cm diameter sponge ball.
The beauty of this new sport is the need for players to evolve from regular tennis and its wham bam thank you Mam "power-hitting," to more cultured & strategic play. Hence the name touchtennis.
Speed of mind, understanding of the rival’s weakness and exquisite touch count far more than physical strength and power.
The games addictiveness comes mainly from the way it "levels the field" amongst different players and sexes. The ingenuous design of the interaction, between racket-ball-surface-court dimensions, allows for longer rallies and putting the ball away sometimes seems impossible!
The sport has seen many former tennis players (former Wimbledon winners) and commentators give up playing Tennis to play full time on the touchtennis circuit and compete fiercely for ranking points. It is great fun to play at any age and brilliant for beginners, children and less experienced tennis players.
The touchtennis circuit with its tournaments (slams and masters) is becoming more and more popular, and the number of registrations for a place in contests is overwhelming.
